- I always wanted my Grandma to make this cake for my birthday
- cake.

- Chocolate Marble Cake

- 1/2 cup butter 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup sugar 2/3 cup milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1-oz. square unsweetened chocolate,
- 3 eggs melted and cooled
- 2 cups sifted cake flour 2 Tbsp. hot water
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/8 tsp red food coloring
- 1/4 tsp. soda

- Cream butter and sugar till light. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time,
- beating well after each additiion. Sift together, baking powder, and
- salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating after each
- addition. Combine remaining ingredients and stir into 1/3 of the batter.
- Alternate batters by spoonsfuls in greased and lightly floured loaf pan
- (or 2 8" round cake pans) and zigzag spatula through batter. Bake at 350F
- for 55 to 60 minutes (35 to 40 minutes for round pans).
